The 2010 Anit-Tobacco Advertising Contest
Are you in the 4th or 5th grade? Do you have what it takes to make a great anti-tobacco ad? Are you among the living? if you answered yes to all of these questions, send us your original TV, radio, or billboard/poster ads telling people about the dangers of tobacco. Everyone who enters gets a prize package, 9 winners will get up to $300, and the Best of Contest winner will get $400 and their entry made into a real ad. We bet your head is just bursting with juicy ideas.

Essay Contest
The Utah League of Cities and Towns is sponsoring an essay contest to encourage fourth graders to learn an write about the communites in which they live.
Students are to write essays about their communities or neighborhoods and what living in those places means to them. Possible areas that could be discussed are the following:
Length: Between 250-450 word
Submitting: Return your essay to your teacher before 19 Feb 2010. All essays submitted will be judged and only one entry per class will be accepted.
Awards: 1st place $100 for the individual and $1,000 for the school; 2nd place $75 for the individual and $750 for the school; and 3rd place $50 for the individual and $500 for the school.

Design a NASA Patch
NASA and Disney are partnering together in a contest for designing a NASA mission patch to commemorate the completion of Buzz Lightyear’s 15 month mission to the International space station.

- Download and print mission patch templates (with the help of parents).
- Using various elements, design a Mission Patch to commemorate Buzz Lightyear’s time in space aboard the ISS.
- Write a brief description of the design (up to 100 words).
- Submit artwork and design description (with the help of parents).
- Entries may be submitted via e-mail or mail to specific address.
